The menopause represents a significant and often challenging phase in a woman's life. While some may navigate it with ease, others may experience severe symptoms that significantly impact their daily lives. This course draws upon my extensive experience and research spanning many years, focusing on how exercise can empower women to thrive during and beyond the menopausal transition. Designed as a self-paced programme, you have the flexibility to progress through each stage at your own convenience and revisit phases as needed. The comprehensive programme is detailed below. My personal menopause journey was initiated by a burst ovarian cyst, followed by a diagnosis of stage 1C cancer, which led to a total hysterectomy. This experience brought me face-to-face with the challenges of menopause, prompting me to seek answers and solutions rooted in scientific understanding when Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) was not an option. As a fitness tutor and coach, my background equipped me with the necessary expertise to address this unique phase of life. Furthermore, my 2009 dissertation delved into the psychological aspects of motivation for exercise during menopause. This amalgamation of skills and knowledge culminated in the development of a menopause course that has earned recognition from CIMSPA, the foremost fitness awarding body in the UK.
