Service Description

Kettlebell Pilates with Rachel Hubbard If you are not currently using weights in your training, this is a simple and effective place to start. From midlife onwards, there is a gradual loss of muscle mass and bone density. This can affect strength, balance and long-term health. Targeted resistance work helps to counter this. This class combines 20 minutes of kettlebell training (please bring your own) with 20 minutes of classical Pilates. The aim is to build strength and endurance while reinforcing good movement patterns. What the class focuses on Strength and muscular endurance A strong, supportive core and back Bone loading to support density Movement quality and posture Why this combination works Kettlebell work provides resistance, which is key for maintaining muscle and bone as we age. It also challenges coordination and functional strength. Classical Pilates then reinforces control, alignment and core stability. This helps transfer strength into safer, more efficient movement. Regular participation can support: Improved metabolism Reduction in intra-abdominal fat Better stress regulation Greater overall resilience in daily activity Class Details Thursday: 12:00 – 12:45pm, Waunfawr Community Hall Extra session: First Tuesday of each month, 6:00 – 7:00pm, Borth Please bring your own kettlebell. If you are new to using weights, guidance will be given so you can work safely and confidently. This is a structured, practical approach to building strength and maintaining function over time.
